Virus Banner Blue

As members of a land grant institution with an outreach mission at its core, Huck faculty and staff are engaged in multiple efforts designed to serve the public interest.

In the midst of this global pandemic, we offer the following services to help better inform world citizenry with scientifically valid information about coronavirus and related research efforts:

Ask CIDD

Our Center for Infectious Disease Dynamics (CIDD) is comprised of more than 50 faculty experts in infectious disease, including many scientists that are modeling the pandemic, studying virus transmission, advising governments and the health industry, and developing diagnostics, vaccines and therapeutics.

Data 4 Action

Data 4 Action is a collaboration between Penn State, local government, and community organizations to better assess and address impacts and risk factors associated with the coronavirus pandemic in Centre County. The project involves an initial anonymous online survey to collect demographic and behavioral information from county residents, a second study that will survey returning Penn State students, and a third planned study to track and serologically test a smaller number of individuals over multiple years.
