The Future of Research Administration

The Skilled Training in Administration and Institutional Research (STAIR) program is an initiative funded by the National Science Foundation (Award #2419948) that addresses critical gaps in research administration capabilities.
By providing training, mentorship, and consulting services, STAIR empowers research administrators and early-career faculty to compete for and manage research projects effectively. The goal of this initiative is to provide essential research infrastructure and strengthen the research ecosystem to advance national scientific progress.

Objectives
Expanding the ACES curriculum
Leveraging Penn State’s ACES (ACOR Certification and Education Series) program, STAIR is creating a modular, open-access curriculum designed to meet the needs of a broader audience. This curriculum will support professional development in research administration, enhance skills, and foster collaboration among research administrators and faculty.
Timeline
