CIDD connects a vibrant community of infectious disease researchers from across all units at the University
Members of CIDD are highlighted on the Center website and receive notifications about events and opportunities within the infectious disease community at Penn State. We sponsor formal seminar series and informal weekly lunches to keep faculty, staff, and students informed of cutting-edge infectious disease science across the world and across the corridor. Connections and networking within the infectious disease community have been leveraged for collaborative research and funding. Our vibrant graduate student organization helps to provide broad exposure to methods and concepts in infectious disease biology to our trainees that range in scale from proteins to pandemics.
The value and success of CIDD is predicated on the active engagement of center faculty, staff, and students. As a member of CIDD we expect that you will participate, as your schedule allows, in CIDD activities. This can range from participation in CIDD lunches, CIDD seminars, CIDD workshops, serving on gradate committees, and participation in collaborative research and training endeavors with other CIDD faculty.
