Join us for an informal discussion where we explore the caveats of a scientist's profession. _Dr. Shearer is an Associate Professor of Nutritional Science at Penn State and specializes in dietary lipids and their role in health and disease, especially the global shifts in lipids brough about by western diet. _Dr. Shearer received his PhD from the University of California, Davis and worked as an Assistant Professor at Sanford School of Medicine prior to joining Penn State. _Dr. Shearer is highly accomplished in the field of lipid metabolism and holds a patent for a novel method of lipid analysis to predict heart disease._ _ Please RSVP for this event here. _ This event is hosted by the Graduate Women in Science (GWIS) as part of the Inside the Scientist's Studio seminar series. _
