Hosted by the Center of Excellence in Industrial Biotechnology (COEIB), the Virtual Fermentation workshop is a 4-day workshop, held over four Thursdays, focusing on a range of microbial fermentation processes.
In this course, we will cover topics such as bioprocessing, recombinant technologies, kinetics, microbial nutrition, and BioPat trace technology. Participants will have the opportunity to engage in case study experiments and data analysis, guided by our expert instructors.
The workshop will be led by one of Penn State’s esteemed Agricultural and Biological Engineering professors, Ali Demirci; featuring presentations from the director of Penn State's CSL Behring Fermentation facility, Mekala Venkatachalam, and a collaborating biotech company.
