Have you always wanted to learn more about plants but don't know where to start? Anyone curious about botany is invited to a 3-session workshop at the Arboretum titled "Botany 101: Conquer your plant blindness", presented by scientist Robert Witkowski from the Penn State Plant Institute. This will be a fun and enriching workshop series designed for adults to learn knowledge and skills in botany, including plant anatomy, plant identification, botanical sketching, and more. Registration is 100% free, and the sessions are independent, so you don't need to do all 3. Dates are July 1, July 8, and July 29 at 6:30 pm in the Palmer Museum education wing (adjacent to Arboretum).

7/1/25 Session 1: What is a Plant? Learn to think like a botanist, make sketches in the garden, and dissect flowers and fruit. Register here! Discover the variety of the plant kingdom and learn the secrets to identifying major plant families in the garden. Observe real-time plant science in the garden and see how plants shape your food, clothes, medicine, and more.
