The Advanced Cell Culture workshop, hosted by the Center of Excellence in Industrial Biotechnology (COEIB), is a 3-Day workshop that focuses on culturing human pluripotent stem cells (iPSCs).

This is an advanced course that will concentrate on the properties of stem cell culturing - exploring concepts like expansion, differentiation, preservation, characterization, and 3D-culture; all through hands-on experience.

You will cover topics such as iPSC passaging, iPSC cryopreservation, iPSC neural stem cell (NSC) differentiation, iPSC 3D culture, and NSC immunostaining and imaging.

As this is an advanced course, basic cell culture knowledge is required.

The workshop will be led by Penn State Biomedical Engineering Professor Dr. Yuguo Lei; and will be held on campus at the Sartorius Cell Culture Facility.

Dates:
- 3/16/26 (Day 1)
- 3/17/26 (Day 2)
- 3/18/26 (Day 3)

Requirements:
- Must have basic cell culture knowledge
- Required CITI Trainings in accordance with the lab
o (Basic Biosafety & Bloodborne Pathogens)

Who Can Apply: Open to all PSU students, faculty, and staff
