The chemistry of chemical ecology: Standing on the shoulders of giants

Jocelyn Millar is Distinguished Professor of Entomology and Chemistry at University of California Riverside. His lab has two long-term objectives. First, to gain insight into the role of chemical and other types of signals as mediators of insect behavior, and develop a better understanding of how complex natural systems work. Second, to develop practical applications for pheromones, kairomones, and other behavior-modifying chemicals, for integration into pest management programs.
