Dr. Ravnic holds a Huck Chair, is an Associate Professor of Surgery and an attending plastic and reconstructive microsurgeon at Penn State. At the College of Medicine he also directs the Irvin Zubar Surgical Research Laboratory. He completed his general surgery residency at Penn State Hershey, his plastic surgery residency at Indiana University, and a fellowship in reconstructive microsurgery at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City. He interrupted his clinical training to complete a basic science research post-doctoral fellowship in microvascular biology at the Brigham and Women’s Hospital/Harvard Medical School and Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany. His primary clinical interests are the surgical correction of complex traumatic and oncologic wounds. His research interests are in the vascularization of engineered scaffolds and grafts.
