The Pyter laboratory works to understand the biological mechanisms by which cancer and cancer treatments cause behavioral side effects in cancer patients and survivors. These side effects reduce quality of life and treatment compliance, thereby contributing to mortality. In my talk I will present a system-level, translational analysis of how chemotherapy may indirectly cause brain/behavioral side effects by disrupting the gut-brain axis.
