Dr. Nagarkatti is an American Association for Advancement of Sciences (AAAS) Fellow as well as Fellow of the Academy of Toxicological Sciences. Dr. Nagarkatti has published ~275 scientific papers and presented ~450 abstracts at national and international meetings. Dr. Nagarkatti has been the recipient of ~$60million in extramural funding to support her research. She is currently the Principal Investigator (P.I.) on several National Institutes of Health (NIH) grants. Dr. Nagarkatti’s research has been continuously funded by agencies including the NIH, VA, US Army, American Cancer Society, NSF/EPA as well as other private foundations. She has trained >100 doctoral students and postdoctoral fellows, junior faculty, undergraduate and medical students as well as residents and clinical fellows to pursue research in her lab. Dr. Nagarkatti has served on numerous national/international boards and grant review panels. She also has many patents including the use of cannabinoids to treat inflammatory diseases which has been approved by FDA as orphan drug for clinical use.
