Two work events from 2022 stick with me. One was Penn State’s first ever celebration of teaching, research and clinical faculty promotions. Non-tenure line faculty do so much for our research enterprise and our students, and university recognition of their success was long overdue. The other event was our Board of Trustees visit.

On Nov. 10, 2022, Penn State’s Board of Trustees, along with university President Neeli Bendapudi, ventured below ground to explore the world-class instrumentation facilities housed beneath the Millennium Science Complex. It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase not just our technology, but the inspiring passion of our faculty, staff and students.

BG Student Jiaxing Chen Investigates How Immune Cells Can Better Combat Cancer

The latest video in Huck’s “Student Spotlights” series features Jiaxing Chen, a PhD candidate in the Huck Institutes' Bioinformatics and Genomics program. Chen's studying immune cell responses to cancer and therapeutic strategies, such as CAR-T cells, that could improve their effectiveness against certain kinds of tumors.
