Slavković named Huck Chair in Data Privacy and Confidentiality

Aleksandra "Seša" Slavković, professor of statistics and public health sciences and associate dean for graduate education in the Eberly College of Science at Penn State, has been appointed Dorothy Foehr Huck and J. Lloyd Huck Chair in Data Privacy and Confidentiality.


Huck students elect co-chairs for new academic year

Huck Graduate Student Advisory Committee (HGSAC) students elected Avery Sichner and Jessica Walnut to serve as the graduate co-advisors to the Huck Institutes for the upcoming 2023-24 academic year.

Exploring how environmental chemicals impact gut microbiome

Andrew Patterson, professor of molecular toxicology and the John T. and Paige S. Smith Professor in the College of Agricultural Sciences, has been awarded a new $7 million grant to lead an interdisciplinary team that will investigate how environmental chemical exposure impacts the gut microbiome to exacerbate inflammatory disease.


NIH grant to facilitate high-speed bioprinting at scale

A new project led by Ibrahim T. Ozbolat, professor of engineering science and mechanics, biomedical engineering, and neurosurgery at Penn State, seeks to develop technology to quickly and efficiently bioprint human tissues. The National Institute of Biomedical Imaging and Engineering at the National Institute of Health has awarded over $2 million in support of the project.
