Advancing discovery at the intersection of environment and human health
The Center for Environmental Health Sciences brings together researchers across Penn State to understand how environmental exposures shape biological function, health, and disease. We study environmental chemicals in the context of diet, drugs, the microbiome, and molecules produced by the body. By tracing how these exposures and interactions alter biological pathways, CEHS researchers uncover mechanisms that can inform biomarkers, risk assessment, disease prevention, and new approaches to protecting health.
