Dr. Zhiping Weng is the professor and director of Bioinformatics and Integrative Biology program in University of Massachusetts Medical School. Dr. Weng received her Ph.D. in Biomedical Engineering at Boston University where she was further appointed as instructor and assistant professor. Dr. Weng is one of the leading scientists in Encyclopedia of DNA Elements (ENCODE) project and she leads the data analysis center. Research in Dr. Weng’s lab focuses but not limits to understanding the molecular mechanism of gene regulation and its effect in disease development. Dr. Weng was awarded by National Institutes of Health to study 1% of the human genome in detail. Please visit her lab website for further details.
