Open-Source PPE Manufacturing & Sterilization

New Huck Podcast Explores MASC Collaboration

Our latest episode of The Symbiotic Podcast explores a globally collaborative, transdisciplinary effort that may have helped save lives. As the initial coronavirus wave swamped the United States, Penn State’s Manufacturing and Sterilization for COVID-19 (MASC) Project sought to extend the usefulness of PPE and fill gaps in global supply chains.

Guests: Moriah Szpara, associate professor of biology, biochemistry, and molecular biology; Tim Simpson, professor of mechanical and industrial engineering; and Melissa James, facilities coordinator at the Eva J. Pell Lab.
