What is the Downstream Workshop?

The Downstream Processing workshop is a specialized workshop geared toward industry professionals wanting to learn more about downstream processing; this is a 3-day virtual course that covers both fundamentals and case-studies. The ultimate goal of our workshop is to provide a strong foundation and understanding of the processes needed to generate purified products from fermentation and cell culture.

Over the three days of the workshop, our instructors will provide lectures that focus on the development of process flow diagrams for product purification and the specific unit operations used in bioprocessing, including centrifugation, chromatography, and membrane separations.

These topics are reinforced through case-studies that are aimed to provide both insights into how to employ the fundamental topics covered in the workshop, as well as problems involved in monoclonal antibody purification and virus clearance.

Our workshops welcome individuals of all expertise levels; as our goal is to provide training in downstream and biotechnology processes that will ultimately expand your fundamental knowledge and provide a deeper understanding that will directly benefit your work.
