COEIB Fermentation Workshop

The Center of Excellence in Industrial Biotechnology (COEIB) will be hosting an in-person Fermentation workshop this December, and we are welcoming all to attend!

This is a 4-day, in-person workshop, held Monday–Thursday:
• 12/8/25: 8:00am–5:00pm
• 12/9/25: 8:00am–5:00pm
• 12/10/25: 8:00am–5:00pm
• 12/11/25: 8:00am–5:00pm

The cost of attendance is $3,599/person, which covers all four sessions (lodging & travel are not included).

The workshop will be led by one of Penn State’s esteemed Agricultural and Biological Engineering professors, Dr. Ali Demirci; featuring presentations from the Director of Penn State's CSL Behring Fermentation Facility, Dr. Mekala Venkatachalam.

The workshop will focus on and explore critical concepts in fermentation, such as:
• Fermentation Processes
• Aeration and Agitation Evaluation
• Scale-Up Strategies
• Data Analysis
• Hands-On Simulations
