Event Details
Since its inaugural event at Penn State in 2003, the EEID meeting has grown steadily in both size and impact, expanding across the U.S. and internationally. Its success has always stemmed from the meeting unique format and the vibrant community it attracts. However, this is a rapidly evolving field and we often miss opportunities to connect with nearby colleagues, discover potential for interdisciplinary collaborations, and create new avenues for students to benefit from local networks. Smaller, regional events can help fill this gap by encouraging informal interactions, accelerate the exchange of ideas, strengthen lab-to-lab connections and provide space to simply enjoy engaging in science together.
With this in mind, we propose launching an Eastern EEID meeting that brings together PIs and their labs from eastern U.S. universities. Penn State - CIDD is pleased to host the inaugural gathering November 14-15, and we hope this kick-off event will build momentum toward a sustainable tradition of regular Eastern EEID meetings.
Our goal is to keep the meeting schedule relatively flexible and encourage discussions around a few general themes (to be announced soon). A limited number of talks will be selected from the submitted abstracts; all other abstracts will be included in the poster session on Friday afternoon. We will notify you by the end of October if your choice to give a talk has been selected. An updated program will be sent out early November.
