Integrating expertise in engineering, plant and soil sciences, and applied data analytics, our researchers are developing advanced sensing platforms and field-deployable tools that monitor crop health, soil conditions, water quality, and environmental stressors in real time. This work leverages the universities strengths in materials science, robotics, and bio-inspired materials to accelerate new devices for sustainable food production, precision agriculture, and ecosystem resilience. Coupled with our statewide agricultural extension networks and strong industry partnerships, center affiliates are creating a powerful ecosystem for translating biodevice innovations from lab to field.
