2011 Techniques in molecular biology: laboratory workshop

Workshop overview Hands-on experience with the basic techniques in molecular biology, including: Purifying nucleic acids Analyzing DNA by restriction enzymes Gel electrophorisis Southern and northern hybridizations Generating nucleic acid probes Cloning and screening for desired clones DNA sequencing PCR amplification Protein analysis by western blotting This two-week intensive laboratory workshop is supplemented with lectures and discussions on: The basic principles behind the techniques Applications of techniques Current developments Related techniques Cost Penn State participants: $750 Participants not at Penn State: $1,200 These fees are for the workshop only.
