Yengo lab

Chris Yengo's lab investigates the biochemistry, biophysics and cell biology of myosin motors.
myosin III

myosin III

In the Yengo lab we are currently focused on examining myosin motors from muscle and non-muscle cells.  We specialize in using fluorescence spectroscopy and imaging techniques to study protein dynamics, localization, and motility in vitro and in live cells. Recently we are examining the role of myosin III in the stereocilia of inner ear hair cells and microvilli of photoreceptors.  We are also using fluorescence resonance energy transfer to examine the structural dynamics of myosin V.
