Reese and Bevilacqua advisees travel beyond Penn State to showcase research

Jason Miller, Chris Strulson, Jenny Wilcox, Pallavi Thaplyal and Kwok Chun Kit present their work to researchers at several other respected institutions.

Jason Miller, a graduate student in the Reese lab, attended the "Systems Biology: Global Regulation of Gene Expression" meeting this past March at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories, where he presented a poster entitled "Identification of targets of mRNA decay factors using RIP-seq reveals they target specific messages."

Chris Strulson, a graduate student in the Bevilacqua lab, presented his research "RNA Catalysis through Compartmentalization" at a departmental seminar at Elizabethtown College this past April.

Jason and Chris were also selected to present their research at the 2012 RNA Society meeting this May at the University of Michigan.

Jenny Wilcox, also a graduate student in the Bevilacqua lab, was awarded a Travel Fellowship from the RNA Society to attend the their 2012 meeting, where she and fellow graduate students Pallavi Thaplyal and Kwok Chun Kit will present posters of their research.
