Huck Institutes recognizes Scott Boor with 25-year award

Each year, Penn State recognizes faculty and staff members who have given long service to the University and completed 25 years of full-time employment. On March 1, 2017, Scott Boor will have reached 25 years of service to Penn State.

Scott’s career at Penn State first began in Wartik Lab, where he worked for 15 years before moving with the then newly created Life Sciences Institute to its new facilities. During his career, Scott has served in many different capacities, including taking care of lab work to support biotechnology workshops, facilities, and information technology (IT), and one of his most memorable achievements involves the design and installation of an early data network.

In his current role, Scott is the go-to person for providing a variety of voice, video, conference, and phone networking services throughout several of the Huck Institutes’ buildings. What many of us have come to recognize and appreciate most is Scott’s ability to detect and calmly resolve problems, usually before anyone realizes and they develop into bigger issues. He takes great pride in finding unique solutions to complex problems, and is eager to lend a helping hand.

Please join us in congratulating Scott on his 25 years of service at an informal reception on Friday, March 3, at 10:30 a.m. in 201 Huck Life Sciences Building. Light refreshments will be provided.
