Gene-targeted mouse production
Production of targeted mutant mice by embryonic stem cell microinjection.
What you will need
Investigators should have:
- A PSU IACUC approved protocol so that chimeric progeny can be transferred to your protocols at weaning
- Consulted with the Animal Resources Program to acquire mouse space in one of the PSU campus facilities
- Evidence of a screening assay (either PCR or Southern), for your mutant allele, so you can detect germline transmission.
- Investigators who want to supply their own targeted embryonic stem cell line must have commercial documentation that the cell line was MAP tested for murine adventitious agents prior to expansion.
