Fees

Proteomics and Mass Spectrometry Core Facility Fee Schedule, April 2007.

These fees apply to researchers based at Penn State. Reduced fees are available, depending on number of samples.

Sample preparation

2D-gel electrophoresis, first gel $196.82
Additional gel $70.29
Sypro Ruby Stain (100mL) $23.10
Sypro Ruby Staining (0.5 hr) $16.48
Gel imaging using laser scanner $10.87 per wavelength
Gel imaging using GS-800 densitometer $6.59
Gel spot cutter - user operation $24.62 per hour
Tryptic in-gel digestion $57.53/ first sample, $11.51/ additional sample
Tryptic in-liquid digestion $41.84/ first sample, $10.46/ additional sample
ZipTip desalting $10.94
Plate reader (per run) $2.50

Mass spectrometry

Nominal mass measurement $19.66
Accurate mass measurement $39.31
LC-MS analysis See note 1 $38.05
Open access LC-MS analysis $10.22
GC-MS analysis See note 1 $39.08
MALDI-Tof analysis $19.55

Note 1: These rates are with the use of a generic LC or GC method, or a method provided by the user. Specific method development will incur additional charges.

Proteomics

CapLC-Q-Tof with automated data processing and analysis for proteins obtained from 2D gel spots (1hour of run time) See note 2 $74.51
CapLC-Q-Tof with automated data processing and analysis for proteins obtained from 1D gel bands (1.5 hours of run time) See note 2 $103.52
Peptide mass fingerprinting by MALDI-Tof $29.43

Note 2: These rates are for protein digest that are in a completely automated fashion. For custom data analysis, the rates will be determined by actual instrument and operator time spent.
