What materials do your users need to provide?

Here's a list of things that we make available, and other things that you will need to provide. This page also contains a list of suppliers from whom you may buy items.

Scanning and Transmission Electron Microscopy

Users should provide:

  • Information about their samples, related literature and protocols
  • Grid storage boxes

We will provide buffers, chemicals, grids or stubs and other hardware for conventional SEM and TEM.

Samples should be brought to the EM Facility in primary fixative at a prescheduled time.

Light microscopy

Users should provide:

  • information about their samples, related literature and protocols
  • If using antibodies in a protocol for immunohistochemistry, the user will need to provide a kit containing antibodies and buffers.

We will provide buffers, chemicals, paraffin, cassettes, slides, etc.

Storage of images (all kinds of microscopy)

Users may provide a disk for storage of images.

We can provide CDs and zip disksĀ  for a small fee.
