Olympus Fluoview 1000

This triple-laser confocal microscope uses auto-setup to install objectives, lasers and detectors for unique dye combinations. FRAP (with SIM scanning), FRET and spectral imaging are available.

Overview

  • 3 lasers (488, 543, 633 nm) plus 405nm for FRAP
  • Time detectors (two are variable band pass)
  • Time controller for complex experiments
  • After training, users are expected to image on their own

Cost

  • $35/hour

Details

  • Sim scanning: simultaneous photobleaching and scanning. Excellent for rapid FRAP or acceptor photobleaching FRET.
  • Spectral imaging: using either established fluorescence spectra or blind spectral deconvolution
  • Time controller: enables multiple diverse imaging conditions to run with automatic controls
  • Software: there is a light version of the FV1000 software that can be installed on individual computers.
