Joint lab with Chinese university
Penn State President Graham Spanier and Dr Xiaolong Yan of SCAU in China, shortly after Dr Spanier formally signed the agreement to create the joint lab.
Penn State and the South China Agricultural University (SCAU) have established a joint laboratory for research and training in root biology.
This lab builds on 25 years of successful collaboration between SCAU professor Xiaolong Yan and Penn State professor Jonathan Lynch, and 100 years of collaboration between Penn State and SCAU.
The lab will focus on understanding the molecular biology, breeding, physiology and agroecology of root traits that affect how plants acquire water and nutrients.
More information about this collaboration, from a College of Agriculture news release.
