9. Comprehensive examination

  • Program Chair submits schedule (3 weeks before date) to the Graduate School.
  • Exam should be completed at least 3 months prior to final examination.

10. Thesis

(See Thesis Information Bulletin for dates; timeline below is a guide)

  • 11 weeks before Graduate School delivery date: Submit first draft of thesis to major advisor.
  • 7 weeks before Graduate School delivery date: Copies of thesis including abstract (600 words maximum) and vitae (one page maximum) in approved Graduate School form delivered to all committee members.
  • 5 weeks before Graduate School delivery date: Reviewed thesis returned to student for correction.
  • 3 weeks before Graduate School delivery date: Review of corrected thesis and final examination. Final Exam must be scheduled through Genetics Program office and Graduate School.
  • Accepted by Advisory Committee.
  • Reviewed by Program Chair (Allow 1 week for review).
  • Reviewed and accepted thesis submitted to Graduate School. (On or before delivery date)
  • Accepted by Graduate School.
