5. Preparation of a written thesis proposal and approval by the Advisory Committee

6. Obtain copy of Thesis Information Bulletin and Manual for Graduate Students from Graduate School

  • Program Chair submits schedule (3 weeks before date) to the Graduate School.
  • Exam should be completed at least 3 months prior to final examination.

7. Thesis

(See Thesis Information Bulletin for dates; timeline below is a guide)

  • At least 11 weeks before Graduate School delivery date: submit first draft of thesis to major advisor.
  • At least 7 weeks before Graduate School delivery date: Copies of thesis in approved Graduate School form delivered to all committee members.
  • At least 5 weeks before Graduate School delivery date: Reviewed thesis returned to student for correction.
  • At least 3 weeks before Graduate School delivery date: Review of thesis; at this point, MS students are encouraged to make a formal research presentation.
  • Accepted by Advisory Committee.
  • Reviewed by Program Chair.
  • Reviewed and accepted thesis submitted to Graduate School.
  • Accepted by Graduate School.
