A program that includes faculty from from more than one of Penn State's academic colleges. Students in the program are typically based in several departments, and even on different campuses. » more

What deadlines should I be aware of?

Typically, faculty begin reviewing applications on December 1. Applications will be reviewed until all available positions for the following Fall semester are filled. » more

Do I need to identify a specific faculty member as an advisor before I apply?

This depends on the program. Many programs require or allow students to undertake rotations in different labs before selecting an advisor or advisors. However, you are encouraged to contact faculty members before applying, to explore possible research opportunities. » more

Will I have an opportunity to visit the campuses and meet with faculty?

You can visit the campuses at any time under your own financial resources. Some applicants may be invited for interview at one or more campuses (your expenses will be paid). » more

Can I change campuses or options after starting?

If you are in a graduate program offered at both University Park and Hershey campuses, and you become interested in a research project at another campus after starting, you will be able to change campuses in order to explore it. If you are in the Integrative Biosciences program, you may be able to change options. » more
